ever read to the lighthouse by virginia woolf?
well, you should.
i started it yesterday, and i love it. she completely gets into the minds of her characters. it's like making new friends. a big thanks to mr. doug baker, who recommended this to me long ago.
Excerpt: Chapter 10
Life, she thought... A sort of transaction went on between them, in which she was on one side, and life was on another, and she was always trying to get the better of it, as it was of her; and sometimes they parleyed (when she sat alone); there were, she remembered, great reconciliation scenes; but for the most part, oddly enough, she must admit that she felt this thing that she called life terrible, hostile, and quick to pounce on you if you gave it a chance.

I recently made a list of 150 books I need to read asap... You know books that I probably shouldn't have gotten out of college let alone high school without reading...anyway that was number 56.
what number was 56?
to the lighthouse...
oh i get it now. that makes embarrassingly perfect sense.
